This stunning acoustic guitar was designed by Gibson Acoustic’s master luthier Ren Ferguson, and is a testament to the skill and spirit of the Gibson’s guitar builders in Bozeman, Montana. This flat-top acoustic has a large body that provides plenty of volume and sound projection. Here are the specs from Gibson: Montana Gold Flame Maple The Custom Montana Gold takes the SJ-200 design to the highest level of craftsmanship. I don't like doing it, but will for the right guitar at the right price. The valuable Gibson J-200 has been in production since it launched in 1938 as the Super Jumbo. You really need to understand the market, and you really need good detailed photos if you're going to buy off CL or ebay without seeing first-hand.

I probably over-payed for the two ES 335s, but both were models I was specifically looking for. I have also bought two other Gibsons (both ES 335 variants) and a very good classical guitar off ebay in the last couple of years. I looked at (but did not buy) another guitar (1947 L-7) that was on both ebay and CL near San Diego, while I was working out there a few months ago. The SJ may or may not have been a mistake-I still think about it-but I didn't want another project guitar at that time, no matter how reasonably priced (I was already in the process of dropping several grand on repairs to two other guitars when I found that one).
I passed on one more guitar (1948 SJ) locally after inspecting it, and another (1958 L-5C) after not liking some of the things I saw in more detailed photos sent to me by the seller. Both were worth the trip, and I got them for good prices. From its inaugural appearance in 1937, Gibson’s SJ-200 became a beloved standard for acoustic players of all genres. The legacy of Gibson’s King of the Flat-tops lives on in the SJ-200 Standard acoustic-electric guitar. One (000-28 EC) was a bit over an hour's drive south of me, the other (1947 L-7) a three hour drive north of me. Gibson 2019 J-200 Standard Acoustic-Electric Guitar. I have bought two guitars in the last year off craigslist in Florida, where I live. Nice to know these Guitars are on a ( I wouldnt Touch) site. I would not trust someone listing from far away with there ad or my money. CL is only good if you live in that area of the listing.
